Hands Free Carrying Solutions

The weight of mobile computers is not particularly significant for short usage periods. But when users are expected to carry and use such equipment for extended period of time, consideration must be given to the most appropriate way to avoid strain to the arm and hands. In addition, many tasks require the mobile computer to be used in conjunction with other equipment, or the user has to carry out other tasks with hands at the same time as needing to use the computing device.

To this end RUGGED MOBILE Systems Ltd is pleased to make available a range of unique hands–free solutions that solve these problems for both small handheld computing devices, using the Sacci Belt Flip-up, and larger Tablet and Notebook PC’s using the Sacci-Hook Shoulder Harness.

The Sacci-Hook Shoulder Harness

The unique Sacci-Hook gives you the fantastic opportunity to work hands-free with tablet computers, notebook PC’s, measuring instruments or steering devices etc. The patented Sacci-Hook design has been developed giving full regard to both function and good carrying ergonomics.

The wide shoulder plate, with body centred positioning, makes the carrying of the field computer or instrument a delight for the user. The sacci-hook is very stable but can be supplemented with a waist strap if the work task involves a lot of movement. It is easy to take off and hang away. The front plate is adjustable to fit all back lengths. This plate can be locked in place with a ball-and-socket joint to present the computing device in an ideal position for use. The plate supports the device via customised fastening mechanisms tailored for each device type.

Sacci belt flip-up

Some years ago Sacci developed a unique work belt using a zipper arrangement allowing a fastening plate to easily move along sliders fitted to the belt.

The Belt Flip-up uses this arrangement with a holster on the plate and a novel flip-up bracket that allows a handheld computer device to be held safely against the body when not in use and simply ‘flipped-up’ for action when needed to be used. When flipped-up the device locks in position and allows the user to view and use the device whilst having hands free for use in other tasks.

Through this smart construction, the mobile computer can also be easily pushed sideways on the belt to reach the best operating position. When not used it can easily be flipped down and pushed to the back side of the belt, out of the way of other tasks being performed.
